After more than 14 years of providing consulting services, EcoSafety & Sustainability is no longer taking new clients. Operations are now limited to providing support to existing clients on past work. Dr. Saxe is taking on a new role with a longtime client while pursuing an MBA degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Other members of the technical staff will remain available to provide any needed support to existing clients.

See our late-breaking science, presented at the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry North America 42nd Annual Meeting – SETAC SciCon4. Our poster, Combining Ecological Risk Assessment and Life Cycle Indicators in a Tool to Support Eco-Innovation of Personal Care Products, describes a method developed with Avon Products International to improve the sustainability of down-the-drain products by considering a wide range of potential impacts at the early design stage.

Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health published a short animation featuring the Global Aquatic Ingredient Assessment (GAIA) process they use for tracking the environmental safety of their cosmetics and personal care products after use. We are proud to be co-inventors of the patented GAIA process with scientists at J&J, supporting their sustainability efforts. Improvements start with scientifically sound measurement and tracking programs like this one.
